82 Wentworth Park Road is a 17-unit complex opened in 1987, following Tom Uren’s vision for infill public housing in Glebe. In 2022, the Coalition Government began swiftly moving tenants out so that the site could be developed into 43 ‘social and affordable’ homes. Labor signalled opposition to this proposal, but shamefully backflipped after forming government. Hands Off Glebe and Action for Public Housing have managed to win a guarantee that the redeveloped complex will be 100% public housing, but are continuing to campaign for refurbishment and infill.
