Action for Public Housing

Glebe

What's happening?

Glebe is one of the major centres of public housing in inner-Sydney – the homes, mainly dating from the 1980s, provide high quality housing that is under maintained.

Community resistance to the previous Liberal government prevented a number of sell offs and demolitions, and the new Labor government has committed to saving the Franklyn St estate. However, 82 Wentworth Park Rd and potentially other housing in the suburb are still on the chopping block, while others have set empty of years awaiting government decisions.

What are we doing about it

Tenants are organising!

Action for Public Housing works with tenants and local group Hands off Glebe to defend and extend public housing in Glebe.

To stay up to date you can sign up to our mailing list or contact us to get more involved.
