The Arncliffe estate was a 140-unit series of three-storey brick walkups built in the 1940s, redeveloped as part of the ‘Communities Plus’ program. Tenants were relocated in 2016-2019, though between 2020 and 2023 the estate was used as emergency housing, in response to COVID-19. Demolition began in 2023 and will be followed by the construction of 180 social homes managed by Evolve Housing plus 564 private apartments. A two-bedroom units will sell for approximately $900,000.
